Our church was born on September 7, 1997 as a daughter church of First Baptist Church of Woodstock, GA. The plan was to establish a church in Paulding County, a northwest suburb of Atlanta, but to be regional in its outreach. The dream of the founding leadership was to provide a place where people of all backgrounds could come together to become fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Our vision has been fueled by the conviction that Jesus Christ, and His church, is the hope of the world.
After meeting for two months in various locations, with a core group of 46 people, we officially launched our first public service on September 7, 1997. The first service was held at Vaughan Elementary. We were shocked when over 250 people walked through the doors. Within the first four months over 40 people trusted Jesus Christ to be their personal Savior. After the first year, our growth moved us to two services. Within two years, our growth prompted us to move from the cafeteria of Vaughan into the gymnasium. From day one we have told people never to get comfortable because you never know when things are going to change.
Change happened again in September 2000. After once again experiencing significant growth, we moved into our next location at East Paulding High School. We have grown from a staff of 4 to 25, and with a weekly attendance of more than 3,000, moved into our new building on December 18, 2005.
From day one the thing that has driven the church has been a desire to see God move in a mighty and miraculous way. We feel like we have experienced just a touch of incredible things to come. Our mission has been to help people discover a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to experience the abundant life journey found only in Him. God continues to amaze us as He fulfills this mission.
